Students will be able to apply the following math skills for grades 6-8:

  • Work flexibly with fractions, ratios, and proportions throughout the mission.

  • Use cross-multiplication, division, and online Macromedia® Flash® tools to calculate and monitor the heart and respiration rates of astronauts during the mission.

  • Graph heart and respiration rate data and make predictions about astronaut exertion levels.

  • Use problem solving to find solutions to logistical issues during the mission.

  • Use estimation and time management skills to plan astronaut task itineraries for the mission.
