Wind Team

Home | Fast Facts | Picture Help | Maps and Graphs

You are on the wind team. Your team studies the shape and position of the jet stream for days 1 - 3. Then you predict its location on day 4 and its effect on New York City's weather that day. That's when the event is scheduled. Think about the following questions:

  1. How have the shape and position of the jet stream changed from day 1 to day 3?
  2. What do those results mean?
  3. Do you notice any strong trends or patterns?

Use the Team Checksheet to help you. Your team must be prepared to report your findings to Weather Central at the beginning of the videoconference. Then you will work together to see what weather conditions develop on day 4.
